You’ve decided you’re ready to upgrade your kitchen countertops, but aren’t sure what’s current in kitchen trends, or aren’t sure which product would work best for your design. What now?
How do you decide what type of countertops would accent your room perfectly? How do you know how thick the product should be, and how can you find something that’s durable, beautiful, and will hold up to daily wear and tear?
Working with a designer can help you not only decide on the type of material which would work best in your kitchen (or bathroom), but they can help you understand the different brands we work with, what styling is offered, and the differences between the durability, scratch resistance, and more.
You’ll learn about the maintenance that’s involved in caring for your countertops, whether you choose granite, quartz, or something like butcher block.
Thankfully, we have an on-staff designer, which means we work with you every step of the way, from the design process all the way to the expert installation you expect.
Speaking of brands, a couple of the countertop brands we choose to work with are Silestone Quartz and Sensa Granite, which both fall under the Cosentino product platform.
Let’s look a little closer at what each brand offers.
Silestone Quartz
Silestone Quartz comes in a wide array of colors. In fact, they offer so many color choices you’ll be amazed at the selection. It’s not just colors they offer, there are variables such as unique designs—think marbleized veins, metallic flecks, or a smooth, polished look.
With unique textures within the materials, you can choose a bubbled volcanic design, a sueded look, or one of many others. In search of a perfect shade of off-white, they’ve got pretty much every variation you can think of. They make it easy to find exactly what you want.
Sensa Granite
Sensa Granite’s 15-year warranty is something to sit up and take notice of. They want to be sure you know your countertop will last! The key is to have it installed by an authorized installer, so you know it’s done right.
Because you don’t need to continually retreat this natural stone, it’s virtually maintenance free. Of course, be sure to wash it with warm, soapy water to keep it clean, but otherwise, you’re good to go.
How will your countertop stand up to time and use? Beautifully. There’s a special, patented treatment that helps protect the surface.
While the surface has been treated, it’s still wise to avoid stress-causing issues such as placing hot items directly on the granite. It’s suggested that you use trivets, potholders, or placemats to maintain the integrity of your counter.
Another tip is to choose proper cutting surfaces such as cutting boards. While granite is strong, it can scratch. In using these tips, you’ll prevent unnecessary damage to your counters and keep them in impeccable condition.
We’ve expertly installed countertops as part of newly designed kitchens and bathrooms, along with quick refreshes of updating countertops alone. New counters can give your home a fresh new look, when a full remodel isn’t in the budget. Instead of putting off a remodel for another five or ten years, why not consider updating your counters to the quartz or granite of your dreams?
